“The Surprising Story of Simon Kjaer: Why Talent Selection Does Not Always Work”

While this article is in regards to soccer, I think it is applicable to many youth sports programs in the United States. Far too much emphasis, in my opinion, is placed on winning and building “elite” teams of athletes that are not even in high school. Being the top player on a team of ten-year-olds does not make you an elite-level athlete.
