“Thoughts on Long-Term Athletic Development and Training Young Athletes”

Coach Bill Hartman speaks out against early sports specialization by young athletes. He touches on the long-term athletic development (LTAD) model and how early sports specialization conflicts with it. An athletic background consisting of more experiences at a young age in a variety of activities/sports is more likely to yield an elite athlete than an early specialization in a single sport.
