“The Best Kept Secret: Why People HAVE to Squat Differently”

Chiropractor Ryan DeBell makes the case that the squat is unique to the individual because of the individual’s unique hip structure. As a fitness/sport performance professional, I can often help a person clean up their squat technique by making suggestions (e.g., “widen your stance”) based upon what I see. However, the individual will have to fine tune their technique to find their optimum stance. That requires some experimentation and practice.
