In this USA Weightlifting article, coach Greg Everett shares his insight on choosing the proper loads when practicing the weightlifting lifts (i.e., clean & jerk, snatch) and their derivatives (e.g., power clean, power snatch). I like his inclusion of daily squat technique practice at the beginning and end of each training session with his athletes/clients. Squatting is a skill that must be refined with regular practice if a person has any hope of pushing serious loads.
