“A Coaches’ Guide to Strength Development: Part V: Is History a Good Predictor of the Future”

With this fifth article in the series, Stuart McMillan speaks to the difficulty inherent in trying to predict future results based upon our knowledge of historical results and our limited understanding as to how the many factors involved in a given performance impacted that performance and to what degree. He speaks to the importance of having a training philosophy and possessing the ability to program daily training sessions, along with an explanation of three of his “driving principles.” He also provide the micro-structure and meso-structure for his track athletes.
