Congratulations to the 2016 World Champion Chicago Cubs!

Last week the Chicago Cubs won a thrilling Game 7 against the Cleveland Indians. Having been a long-time fan of the Chicago Cubs, it has been a dream come true. I am so impressed with this team that ended the longest championship drought in U.S. sports history. They carried the hopes of Cubs Nation on their shoulders and delivered. That is particularly impressive considering the relative youth of this team. The Cubs are “loveable losers” no more!

Below are some links from the past few days of revelry. Enjoy!

David Haugh, writing for the Chicago Tribune, breaks down the significance of the Game 7 victory. Here is his article: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/columnists/ct-cubs-world-series-historic-haugh-spt-1103-20161102-column.html

FOXSports gave us views of a Cubs-themed, blue-dyed Chicago River. Here are the pictures: http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/the-chicago-river-was-dyed-blue-for-the-cubs-world-series-parade/ss-AAjUnGi?ocid=st#image=1

The New York Times had their bases covered, so to speak, in the event that the Cubs lost in the World Series. Here is a look at the proposed front page: http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/11/new-york-times-reveals-front-page-it-had-planned-for-the-cubs-losing-the-world-series

Saturday Night Live saw three members of the Cubs — Dexter Fowler, Anthony Rizzo, and David Ross — join with former cast member and long-time Cubs fan, Bill Murray, to celebrate the World Series win by joining the show. The Washington Post has published pictures from the Cubs victory parade and rally in Grant Park. It is estimated that 5 million people took part in the festivities. I wish I could have been there. I had to settle for watching the festivities on TV.
