Congratulations to the Champions!

Congratulations to Sir Winston, jockey Joel Rosario, and trainer Mark Casse in winning Saturday’s Belmont Stakes. Sir Winston managed an impressive victory over my Belmont Stakes (and Kentucky Derby) pick, Tacitus. Tacitus ran an impressive race, but it wasn’t enough. The Runhappy Metropolitan Handicap, that was run earlier in the day was a absolutely thrilling race which saw my pick, McKinzie, run a fiercely determined race only to finish second to Mitole.

Belated congratulations to this year’s Preakness Stakes winner, War of Will (jockey Tyler Gaffalione / trainer Mark Casse), and Kentucky Derby winner, Country House (jockey Flavien Prat / trainer Bill Mott). An honorable mention goes out to the horse that finished first in the Kentucky Derby before ultimately being disqualified, Maximum Security (jockey Luis Saez / trainer Jason Servis). All in all the Triple Crown races were very entertaining this year. There was no Triple Crown winner, but that only demonstrates how special it is when it happens.
