Prior to moving to Illinois I was a Fitness Specialist at Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic / Raleigh Orthopaedic Therapy Services in Raleigh, North Carolina. Before that I worked as a Personal Trainer at Empower Personalized Fitness in Durham, North Carolina and as a Sport Performance Coach at Athletic Lab in Cary, North Carolina.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science from East Carolina University and my Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion (Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention) from California University of Pennsylvania. I possess a number of professional fitness / sport performance certifications including the NSCA’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USA Weightlifting’s Level 2 Advanced Sports Performance Coach, and NASM’s Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES).
As there are not as many opportunities for fitness and sport performance professionals here in my corner of rural Northern Illinois, I decided to make a career change. Last fall I graduated from 160 Driving Academy (Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Illinois) and earned my CDL Class A. I am currently working for Schneider National as a professional driver.
